Jamaica Mission Trip is from July 18-26, 2026. We will be flying American out of Charlotte (Non-stop) arriving in Mo Bay about 11: AM. Once through customs we will drive up to Mandeville which is a 3 to 4-hour van ride. We will arrive back in CLT on July 26th at 7:00 PM - meaning we will arrive at Pinedale around 9:00 PM.

OBJECTIVES FOR THE WEEK:
Our MAIN objective for the week:

  • Vacation Bible Schools-at Broadleaf, Richmond, Ashley, Mocho, Waltham, Ashleigh and Mocha churches. we may be holding some one-service VBS/Revival type meetings in the evenings as well.

 ***If you have been with us to Jamaica before, a lot of our itinerary for this trip will look the same. We may be able to add VBS back in the evenings at Mandeville Church. We may add in an afternoon or night service – and/or modified VBS – at some of our other churches as well. We will plan services and VBS’s based on the total number of team members going this year. 

SAMPLE DAILY SCHEDULE:

  • 7/18 Saturday Travel day – arriving in Mandeville around 6 PM
  • 7/19 Sunday Church in the AM, ready for week, maybe 1st VBS at … TBA.
  • 7/20 Mon – 7/24 Fri – VBS’s AM/afternoon. Friday, leave for Negril
  • 7/25 Saturday – Chill in Negril – we will have team meeting/debrief PM
  • 7/26 Sunday – Leave Mo Bay at 2:45 PM, back in CLT at 7:00 PM, Pinedale @ 9:00 PM 

OTHER TRIP NOTES:

  • Lodging will be at Regent College of the Caribbean in Mandeville. This will be a room with beds in it and showers/bathroom down the hall. The ladies will probably be housed on the second floor and men on the first floor. If there are couples going, we’ll see if it works out that you can room together in our deluxe suites!
  • Mandeville is located in the mountainous area of Jamaica. Temperatures in the day average 85-90 degrees and can get cool at night.
  • There are stores near the College we can take you to where you can purchase water, snacks and lunch food. There are also a Burger King, KFC, Pizza Hut and Ice Cream shop nearby. You will need to bring your own money to make purchases at these businesses or for souvenirs. These costs are NOT included in your trip total.
  • Breakfast and Supper are provided daily at the College. You will be responsible for your lunch daily. (Occasionally there are leftovers or a lunch or two covered.) We can buy sandwich items at the grocery store. Food or meals on ALL travel days are your responsibility. These costs are NOT included in your trip total. If you will be staying at the hotel in Negril, meals are included there.
  • The risk of contracting disease is very minimal, HOWEVER, a Tetanus shot is recommended. We also recommend a Hepatitis A shot so you will be able to eat some of the local food. We highly recommend both of these shots. You DO NOT need proof of any COVID vaccination or test results. All shots are your responsibility so check with your doctor or health department.
  • FUNDRAISERS: There are samples of FUND RAISING LETTERS to/for individuals if you would like to see them to help you raise support. Please email Danny Spainhour for examples. (Please use church members sparingly!)
  • IF YOU DON'T HAVE A PASSPORT, START THE PROCESS ASAP!!! Send your passport application and information in NOW--they are currently running 8-10 weeks.
  • Your cost & what to bring: (All estimates as of now, depends on # going) 
  1. Airline cost, travel insurance, bag fees $850.00 (Includes checked bag) 
  2. Food during the week at college $ 90.00 (Bkfast/Supper)
  3. Lodging during the week at dorms $210.00 
  4. Van/bus rental and gas for week $50.00 
  5. 2 nights in Negril $140.00 
  6. TOTAL COST PER WEEK $1400.00 
  7. Your own spending money $ ??.?? 

***Your $125.00 Deposit to the church is non-refundable - possibly transferable, due no later than APRIL 12th.
***A total of $800 (deposit included) is due on/by JUNE 7th.
 ***Final balance, due JULY 5th. 

Trip balance must be paid in full 13 days before departure date. 

  • Pinedale will provide basic mission trip insurance in order to get you back home in the event of injury. Additional coverage is available for you to purchase and will increase your trip costs according to the amount of coverage you choose. Please email Danny Spainhour if you desire additional coverage.
